I'm looking forward to smelling this as both you and boisdejasmin have reviewed it, and I'm looking forward to seeing if my feeling more align with hers or yours.
ReplyDeleteHere's BdJ's enjoyably comprehensive review:

I must say that I am 100% in agreement with her conclusion:
"Tom Ford Noir is nothing new, but as I survey the masculine market today, few new launches stand out and there are even fewer that I would want to smell around me....And if for no reason but a selfish desire to smell something other than Bleu de Chanel or Paco Rabanne One Million in the subway, I wish Tom Ford Noir plenty of success on the market."
L`Occitane Eau de Baux with stubble....as a mater of fact that was of some help. Thanks for starting my morning off with a smile.
ReplyDeleteHappy to supply the smiles!
DeleteI agree with everything you said, but I'd also mention that I think I detect a little whiff of Guerlainade about it. I do like Noir, but it's one of those fragrances that makes me think how much better the fragrances are that it smells like, such as Prada Amber Pour Homme Intense or Habit Rouge. So while I do enjoy it, it ends up making me reach for something else. Nice stuff though!
ReplyDeleteJohn, Victoria at Bois de Jasmin also mentioned a Habit Rouge connection, which I'm missing out on. The closest I come is recognizing a shared dustiness among these two orientals, but for me, Habit Rouge is all about the florals: orange blossom and carnation and rose and whatever else makes this baby sing.
