Floris Royal Arms, Chloe L'Eau de Chloe and Carolina Herrera 212 VIP

Always approach unknown perfumes with a healthy fear.
This video is number two in a series of three shot with Krista Madden at the HQ of cheeky style website Beauty and the Dirt (see Part One here). I like doing these quicky reviews at Krista's sample-filled office because it's the perfume version of a pot luck dinner (one where I arrive empty-handed and leave smelling like McCormick & Schmick's on Mother's Day). We go nose-to-nose with the following fragrances: Floris Royal Arms Chloé L'Eau de Chloé Carolina Herrera 212 VIP
Royal Arms is available from FlorisLondon.com at appx $157 for 3.4 oz L'Eau de Chloé is available from Amazon.com at $65 for 1.7 oz 212 VIP is available from FragranceX.com at $62 for 1.7 oz

  1. Bright Angel Katie: These one-on-one discussions are GREAT!!!~ I love the verbal exchange and brainstorming as you two "unpack" the scent. Thank you for your time and effort in doing these detailed discussions for all of us. It is very charming and entertaining. Thank you!!!~

    Always - - Byron..........

  2. Katie, I think it's somewhat funny that about 212 VIP you're probably thinking "I wouldn't be caught dead wearing this." but you're too polite to say it.

    1. *snicker* - Well you know, I have to hold back from a definitive thumbs up or down with only a chance to superficially sniff...

seems the state sponsored brands like "Red Moscow" & "The 8th of March" are on the decline... makes me wonder how they got the smell of diesel, oppression & gulag into a bottle ;)

  4. What an interesting(if somewhat brief) exploration of rose by many other names...

I'm usually envious, but I'm having my own little vintage rose-cum-tuberose-cum-gardenia-cum-chypre-cum animalic kick of my own:

A gob of the infamous Giorgio in parfum sufficient to last several lifetimes, amongst other discoveries!

    1. Trying really hard to not make a joke about the amount of cum in that fragrance.

    2. No, I don't have Secretions Magnifique...though some of these newcomers may beckon guys to cum-hither...

  6. I don't know why, but a few times when you would bury your nose in your arm and keep talking, it made me laugh. In a happy way.'

How do you and Miss Krista know each other?

I'm checking out her blog now!

  8. I tested the Royal Arms and find it reminds me of Soir de Lune by Sisley.
