Gone Fishin’…

...or should that be “fish and chippin’” -- cuz while you all were trying on perfumes and chatting amongst yourselves, I snuck off to London!

I know, I know -- I didn’t call, I didn’t write -- but darn it all, I’ve been sucked right back into the joys of my adopted hometown: sniffing and snarfing, ducking and diving, laughing and freezing.

I met the captivating Linda Pilkington of Ormonde Jayne, I got a gig writing for Elle UK, I pitched a perfume TV show, I had dinner with Bryan Ferry.

Okay, so I wasn’t actually sitting with Bry, but he was at the very next table, facing me, not more than six feet away. I could have easily nailed him with a quick flick of my breadstick. But I resisted the impulse.

When I return to Puckrik Towers and my So-Cal Life next week, I shall issue a full report on the perfumed portion of my activities.

Smell ya later, Fumies!

  1. Waaouw Katie! I'm loopy in anticipation! Can't wait to hear what you've tried out from Ormonde Jayne... and what Bryan Ferry was having for dinner!

  2. Hope you are having fun!

I just sent OJ a 1ml empty vial and a funnel, as they were out of samples of Tiare, and I couldn't contain my curiosity any longer. That might even arrive today! Do you like it?

  4. nadine - have to check with my girlfriend on what Bryan was suavely eating (he does everything suavely, y'know), cuz she was even closer to him.

flittersniffer - how funny that you took matters into your own hands to assist Tiare delivery! I was surprised that Tiare has a very sheer, Chanel Cristalle-like treatment of the tropical bloom. Very refined, not sweaty at all.

Angi - that's nice! I'll let y'all know when my scribbles start appearing.

  5. Ooooh, Bryan Ferry! I love his music and have always thought him dreamier than any perfume could ever be. Congratulations on the Elle gig! And good luck on the TV show idea--someone is bound to pick it up.

  7. Yeah, I'm all fingers crossed and legs atwitter on the TV idea. As long as there are guest appearances from Rodrigo and Brit based perfume fans. Ahem. Ahem.

  8. leopoldo - you can't do a show on perfume without including the passionate nerds who love it. Now THAT' what I call "Scentertainment"!

  9. Yes! Awesome :) Way to go Katie!
We always knew you were "more than this" little YouTube channel. It can't and SHAN'T contain your greatness alone! FTW!

Do you get to move to London!?

    Regards,

  10. Don't make me blush, Gypsy Bride! I'm enjoying your hyperbole. I would definitely be spending more time in London if I manage to pull off the TV show (and that will take some time). Which would be fine by me - I lived there for 16 years and I consider it home.
